Following the recent announcement from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) that the UK’s unemployment rate fell to its lowest level in 48 years, the need for companies to retain their key workers is even more important. In the last three months to July, unemployment levels fell to their lowest since 1974.

Workplace consulting and research specialists Gallup, have found that organisations who invest in employee development are twice as likely to retain their employees. Whilst improving people’s skill levels through investing in on-going training and development, it also demonstrates a company’s care and commitment to their employees.

Global leaders in industrial automation Omron and Plymouth based Applied Automation (UK) also believe that staff training is key to retention and efficiency in the modern industrial workplace, and have joined forces to run a number of training courses in October at Applied Automation’s Technical Distribution Division offices at Ocean Park in Cardiff. The three one-day workshops will be aimed at anyone looking to understand the principal advantages that Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) can offer, and will be held on the 18th, 19th and 20th October 2022.With a mixture of discussion and practical exercises, delegates by the end of the course will have an appreciation of the make-up of a simple PLC system, its practical advantages and awareness of the key implementation stages of a PLC application. The cost of the course is £450 per delegate and numbers are restricted to ensure maximum one-to-one instruction.
